Wise words of Matt Rhodes.

—————————————————————————————-

Its funny I just got a DA note the other day that sounded just like this. I really wish the people sending these messages would stop adding things like ’ its good exposure ’ .The one I got actually said it was good ‘practice for my skills’ (which irked me, I draw every day - I dont need you to offer me an oppertunity for practice)  .

Exposure is nothing - we can expose ourselves (haha) on the internet and so many other mediums. Social networking means we can put ourselves out there.

The one thing that really bugs me about most of these people messaging asking for free work is that the tone of the message is often one that says they are doing YOU a favor by reaching out to you, you poor starving artist. It would be good for your resume , good exposure , good practice - like they know whats good for you. It comes off rather condescending.

The point matt rhodes makes is an awesome one that if the project is really good you find INVESTORS. Every person who makes their own project believes in it but often times their outlook isint realistic. They think it will hit it big and be the next THING but 99% of the time it wont and will fall through more often then not.
