penciltests:
Someone asked if I had anything from “The Firebird Suite” from Fantasia 2000. I have this, which is a combination of several layers of pencil animation (mostly effects) and the final composites. An interesting watch.

READ IT, ABSORB IT, BOOKMARK IT.
This is the most well written, in depth ways to study animation that I have ever seen. It is an amazing read. This is what I try to do when I analyze a scene but hes taken it a million steps further. Inspiration vs. Imitation
kippery:
My principles of illustration teacher sent me this blog entry written by one of his pals Jessica Hische. It is about inspiration vs. imitation and I think it’s pretty insightful and a helpful read for inspiring artists of all kinds.
Here’s a little snippet:
” TO BE A GOOD ARTIST / letterer / designer / guitar player it takes practice. A lot of it. More than you can even fathom...

Leaked Korra opening video
rufftoon:
I wanted to apologise for deleting the link to the leaked Korra opening video. Mike DiMartino has commented on a repost of the video. He asked that it not be reposted. Please, pass the message around, let’s respect his request.
It can be hard not to just jump with excitement and enthusiasm and spread the new Korra material around. Heck, I am guilty of that. I’m in this business and I...
